A Word from Pastor Eric

I believe that we are living in exciting times, a time in which the prophetic words of the bible seem to be unfolding in our daily newspapers. I’m often asked as a Pastor how anyone can know for sure that there is a God and specificity if the God of the bible is the one true God. I like to ask these individuals what it would take to convince them the God of the bible is the one true God or more directly if Jesus Christ was exactly who He said He was.

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." (John 14:6, NKJV)

They usually come back with the same answer, “If I was there to see it for myself”. I love that answer. I would have loved to have seen Jesus and learn from Him directly also. But then I would ask them, what if there was a more sure way to know, even more sure then seeing Him face to face. You may ask “What could be more convincing than seeing Him in person”?

The unfolding of the prophecies of the bible as Peter writes:

" For we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty. For He received from God the Father honor and glory when such a voice came to Him from the Excellent Glory: “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” And we heard this voice which came from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain. And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit." (2 Peter 1:16-21, NKJV)

What Peter is saying is that even though he saw Jesus with his own eyes we who were not there have the word confirmed or the more sure word of prophecy to know that Jesus is who He said He was.

That is the real joy of pasturing here at Calvary Chapel Cardunal. Each Sunday and each Wednesday night as we teach verse by verse through God’s word we discover and experience Jesus through the Holy Spirit on every page of the bible. In those discoveries and experiences we grow as Christians into maturity, being fully equipped for whatever ministry or service that the Lord may call us to.

I hope that you will consider joining us for time in God’s word here at Calvary Chapel Cardunal. We would love to have you as our guest.

If you have any questions for us you can email us or phone us directly with the information below. Or, if there is anything that we can lift up in prayer for you, please let us know.

We hope to hear from you.

God Bless you,
